Bloomberg's Budget Cuts Are Out of Touch
It seems to me that Mayor Bloomberg is truly out of touch with the people of NYC. The money spent on schools, senior centers, daycare centers and libraries is an investment in the city's future.
If anything, the budgets for these programs should be increased and, in part, paid for by NYC's most affluent.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the wealthy...I'd say most of us aspire for what they have achieved but at some point it's time to give back to a society that made it all possible.
For those wealthy individuals who oppose paying their fair share today, I’d suggest that they view it as an investment…a society that is educated, healthy and safe will create a wealthier workforce with greater capacity as consumers. As these consumers spend, the value of today’s wealthiest investments will rise and society as a whole will improve.
Seems like a “win-win” to me!
